GPS Surveys

Through the use of Global satellite positioning (GPS) and the very latest surveying technology from Leica Geosystems, CDS can provide you with reliable coordinated data from the Ordnance Survey (OS) active GPS network. Using Leica SmartNet for RTK surveying we are able to obtain Ordnance Survey grid coordinates and levels rapidly with reliable accuracy.

Now that Ordnance Survey benchmarks are no longer supported as a reliable height reference, using GPS may be the only way to establish OS height information on your site, which is vital if you are carrying out work such as a flood risk assessment. Our accurate surveys show physical features on the ground and can be linked to any asset data or related information with OS coordinates.

Combining surveyed information with background OS mapping, which can be provided, we can assist with boundary issues or with the process of determining legal boundaries for conveyance/transfer maps.

GPS can provide you with a solution for many aspects of your topographical survey requirements with applications including:

  • Topographical Surveys related to OS grids and datum levels

  • High order control networks for future setting-out or possible extension of survey.

  • Boundary issues

  • Conveyance/Transfer maps

  • River cross sections

  • Volumetric surveys

  • Quarry surveys

  • Borehole location

  • Height control

  • Setting out

With rapid data capture and an instant result for coordinated survey data, we can provide you with final survey information extremely quickly.
